Children's Ministry Assistant

Position Title: Children’s Ministry Assistant

Time Commitment: 0.25 Position

Reports To:  Associate Pastor

Relates Closely With: Children’s Ministry Director, Next Gen Administrative, Volunteers, Parents & Children

Skills & Competencies

  • Administrative Strength: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, reserve rooms, and track details.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable learning and managing digital tools (Check-in systems, Planning Center/Church Management Software, email, and basic design/promotional tools).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with parents, volunteers, and church staff.
  • Physical Ability: Able to assist with the physical setup and teardown of ministry environments (moving tables, carrying supplies, setting up tech).

Experience & Education

  • Ministry Experience: Previous experience volunteering or working in Children’s Ministry is highly preferred.

Purpose of the Position:

  • Creating a community of missional kids.
    • Help children grow in their love for God through vibrant and meaningful worship experiences, bible teaching, sharing community with believers, and reaching out to pre-believers.

Key Objectives:

  • Sunday Morning Ministry
    • Volunteer Management (in collaboration with Children’s Ministry Director):
      • Recruiting of volunteers and team leaders for relevant ministry needs.
      • Facilitate effective communication with volunteers, ensuring their schedules are organized, and they feel equipped and motivated to fulfill their roles.
    • Curriculum & Teaching Environments
      • Ensure all teaching materials are ready and available, in collaboration with the Children’s Ministry Director and the Next Gen Administrator.
      • Ensuring that the relevant spaces are reserved and prepared accordingly.
    • Oversee and Facilitate the Check-in system
      • Ensure that all equipment/documents are operating properly and set up/torn down.
      • Do it.
    • Administration/Care
      • Marking relevant pivotal moments, such as: birthdays, births, graduations, etc.
  • Discipleship
    • Volunteer Management 
      • Recruiting of volunteers and team leaders for relevant ministry needs.
      • Facilitate effective communication with volunteers, ensuring their schedules are organized, and they feel equipped and motivated to fulfill their roles.
    • Equipping and Resourcing Parents
      • Relevant materials
  • Events / Promotion
    • Facilitating Camp in collaboration with Children’s Ministry Director
      • such as Camp Discovery
    • Facilitating Outreach Events, in collaboration with Children’s Ministry Director
      • Seasonal Events such as Trunk or Treat, Skating Party
      • Parents Night Off, etc. 
    • Christmas Production
    • Assist with Easter Outreach, in collaboration with Connections Pastor
    • Ongoing promotion of events
      • Work with the Tech Director to create meaningful and inventive promotional material.
      • Ensure that promotional material is gathered and distributed, considering internal communication and community promotion.
